New Delhi, 21 July 2008: Italian automaker, Fiat, on a comeback trail through a joint venture with Tata Motors, has launched the much awaited 500, or Cinquecento in India last Friday.
Designed by the famous Fiat Design Centre, the 3-door soft rounded styled compact car will be available in two trim levels - Lounge and Sport, powered by the Fiat 1.3 multijet engine capable of generating a peak power of 75bhp.

Fiat aims to sell about a 100 of these fully loaded mini cars in India in a year, said Mr.Rajeev Kapoor, CEO, Fiat India Automobiles Private Limited.
The car, to be available in no less than 11 colours, can be modified almost entirely to suit a customer's taste, said Rajeev Kapoor, CEO, Fiat India Automobiles (FIAPL).
Priced at a Honda-Civic conquering Rs 14.82 lakh ex-showroom in Delhi, the 500 would be rolled out only in select cities of the country, where the super-affluent can walk into specially decorated corners of specially decorated Tata-Fiat showrooms and meet this little car.
In the first phase the Fiat 500 will be sold and distributed by Tata Motors through the new Fiat dealer network in six cities - Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chandigarh and Pune.
