Honda to sell world's first Bio-ethanol-Fuel mixed motorcycle
March 11, 2009

Tokyo, 11 March 2009: Honda Motor Company today announced that it has developed the world's first motorcycle powered by an eco-friendly fuel mixed with bio-ethanol and gasoline, which will be put on sale in Brazil from mid-March.

Honda's Brazilian subsidiary plans to sell about 2,00,000 units of CG150 Titan Mix, which will come in three models with prices ranging from about $2700 - $3100. The bikes will be powered by 150 cc engines.

Blending gasoline with bio-ethanol, often made from wheat and sugarcane, is believed to be effective in reducing carbon dioxide emissions and in lowering fuel costs for drivers.

Honda decided it would be easier to launch the product in Brazil, which is one of the world's largest producers of bio-ethanol, since approximately 90% of new automobiles in the country are already running on bio-ethanol mixed fuel.
