New Delhi, 02 July 2009: Home grown automaker Tata Motors registered a 3.91% decline in its total sales during June at 45,399 units compared with 47,245 units the same month in 2008.
The company's total passenger vehicle sales in the domestic market grew marginally at 17,039 units in June against 17,017 units in the same month last year, an increase of 0.13%, the company said in a statement.
The company's exports in June plummeted by 37.19% at 2,155 units compared with 3,431 units in the same month last year, it added.
'Indica' reported sales of 10,210 units, up 19% over June, 2008, Tata Motors said.
'Indigo' family, however, recorded sales of 3,522 units, a fall of 26% over the same month last year. 'Sumo' and 'Safari' accounted for sales of 3,307 units, a decline of 11% compared with June, 2008.
In the commercial vehicle segment, domestic sales in June stood at 26,205 units compared with 26,797 units sold in the same month last year, down 2.21%.
Light commercial vehicle sales during the month were at 16,256 units, a growth of 17% over the last year, while medium and heavy commercial vehicle sales stood at 9,949 units, down 23% compared with June, 2008.
